Pair of shops with accommodation above. Probably early C19. Partly rendered and
stuccoed ground floor with slate hung probably softwood timber framing above. Rag
slate roof with hipped ends.
Plan: Original plans uncertain. The left hand premises comprises a single depth 1-
room plan with the shop, with C19 front on ground floor and accommodation above. The
right hand premises is of double depth plan, the right hand side wall forming part of
the east wall of a small courtyard.
Exterior: 2-storeys. Regular 3-window front. T Henwood & Sons to left has a late
C19 shop front with 2 sashes above, the glazing removed. The Strand Bookshop to
right has a C20 sash with glazing bars removed on ground floor and a C20 window in an
opening for a 12-pane sash on the first floor.
Interior: Internal partition on ground floor of bookshop removed.
