Glenthorne
GV II
Terrace retaining wall. Circa 1846, restored in the late C20. Uncoursed stone
rubble with ashlar dressings.
Plan: irregular U-plan to the north-east of Glenthorne (q.v) curving out at each
end.
Diagonal buttresses with chamfered offsets and balustrade with square dies (angled
over buttresses at corners) topped by urn finials.
Flight of 15 stone steps to north-east, parallel to the wall.
