2 small houses. 3 C17 bays to right, altered C19, mid C19 bay to
left. C17 part has some timber framing, refronted in brick, C19 bay
is of brick. Tiled roofs, brick chimney to right and between left-hand
bays of older part. No. 14 to right has 1½ storeys, each with 3 paired
leaded casements, those to ground floor with segmental heads, those to
first floor in gabled semi-dormers. Door in lean-to porch between left
windows. 16 has 2 storeys and 2 bays, older bay to right has 2 barred
wooden windows with segmental heads to ground floor, and paired barred
wooden casement to first floor. Left bay has 4-pane sashes with
cambered heads and flush-panelled door with similar head to right. C20
extension to left. No. 14 was the home of Emmeline and Sylvia Pankhurst
1912-14. (K. Mayne, Stewkley, 1955).
