Barn range. C17. Weatherboarded timber-frame with plain tile and corrugated
roofs. 2 adjoining barns of 4 bays each. Barn to left with tile roof has double
doors in bay 2 and bay 4. Stone plinth, square panel framing, jowled posts
with curved braces either side of threshing floor. Raking queen-post trusses,
double trenched purlins, clasped principals and ridge piece. Some remains of
split hazel intertwined infill. Barn to right with corrugated roof is similar
with probably a floor inserted and remains of threshing machinery. Roof has
queen-strut trusses. Various doorways. Forms part of a group with Seed Farmhouse
(qv). (R C H M: Vol II; p62).
