Rectory, now divided. 1826-30 (documentary date) with minor later additions
and alterations. Stuccoed slate-stone; hipped slate roofs, partly concealed
by parapet to main range, which is gabled to rear. Main range of 3 x 3 bays
with service range set back to left, extended later C19. Two storeys with
plinth, moulded eaves cornice and parapet. 3-window front, 6-paned sashes
to first floor and 9-paned glazing bar sash on each side of prominent C20 glazed
porch over central 8-panel double doors with glazed vertical side-lights and
wreathed and radiating fanlight. Stack behind ridge to left and ridge stack
to right of centre. Left return has tall round-headed glazing bar sash lighting
staircase. Right return also in 3 bays, including slighly projecting pedimented
break on right has glazing bar sashes. Cellar. Glazing bar sashes also to
rear and former service range (Old Rectory Cottage).
Interior: Main range has'round-headed arch to back of entrance hall with dog-leg
staircase to left. This has circular newels, stick balusters (2 to each tread)
and carved open string. Rear right room (occupying 2 right bays of right return)
has moulded plaster cornice and bolection-moulded fireplace. Panelled doors
and window shutters throughout.
