Danum Cottage shown as Purwell Cottage on OS map.
Cottage pair. Probably C17, altered. Coursed rubble, Cotswold stone
roof, chimney off centre to right. Central alley-way plan. Single storey
and attic, previously 2 storeys. 2 windows, C20 casements under timber
lintels and large gabled half-dormers over (former 1st floor windows
blocked). Central depressed chamfered Tudor arch doorway in centre with
C20 panelled door to common alley giving access to both houses.
