Detached house. 1875. By R Norman Shaw. Red brick; tiled roof; some stucco. Queen Anne style. Picturesque composition of two main storeys plus roof storey. Three main bays with central pedimented entrance and lower wing to left of two narrow bays. Long flush-framed sash windows to ground floor. Upper storey with three tall oriel windows built using Lascelles patent reinforced concrete window framing, including to the mullions, and containing leaded lights. Outer two oriel windows under gables. Tall chimneys. Return elevations also of interest. Interior not inspected. Built for Marcus Stone, the painter.
