House, late C17 with later additions and alterations. Coursed, squared
sandstone blocks. Graduated slate roof with copings and kneelers; stone end
chimneys. 2-storey, 3-bay front has C19 gabled wooden porch with decorated
barge-boards and finial. C19 three-light mullioned window to left of door,
original 4-light mullioned window to right; single C19 sash and 2 small
Yorkshire sashes to 1st floor, all with glazing bars. Internally, ground floor
north has bracketed fireplace with beef-box at 1st floor level; cross-passage
entrance now a cupboard, but stone heck with wooden seat survives. C17
bed-cupboard survives, with small turned balusters to ventilation holes. Ground
floor south has late C18/early C19 panelling, including access doors to bed
cupboard and cupboards to either side of fireplace. C17 and C18 panelled doors
survive throughout. Late C19 extension of slobbered rubble to rear. Barn of
coursed, squared rubble under corrugated asbestos roof adjoins to north.
Rainwater-head at junction with house is dated 1815. Openings to front have
been altered in C20; ramp entrance to rear. Roof has been raised.
