Farmhouse, early C17, cased in brick early C19. Brown brick in
Flemish bond, with pale headers to front. Parts of small-framing are
visible on rear gable right and (restored) on right end. Grey slate
roof. 2 storeys. Central portion of 2 windows; cross-wing at each
end. Lobby entrance (door replaced) with massive ridge chimney of
sandstone behind. Windows mostly late C20 replacements.
Interior: Stair inserted between entrance lobby and inglenooks. The
left inglenook, of sandstone with oak beam, is modified; the right
inglenook is concealed by partition. Quarry tile floor in right room,
Minton tile floor in left room. Stopped ovolo chamfered beam of oak
in left room; between a chamfered oak beam and a cased beam in the
right room are broad, shallow joists of oak, of early C17 type;
between the chamfered beam and the front wall are oak joists of
vertical proportions, probably late C17.
