House, early C18 converted into 2 cottages. Later C18. Hammer-dressed stone,
stone slate roof. 2 storeys. Quoins, moulded stone gutter. 3-cell front
reads, chamfered mullioned window of 3 lights (mullions removed) with 4-light
window over (lacking 2 mullions). Doorway with basket arched lintel and
chamfered jambs, those to right have large tie-stone and are earlier than those
to left. 2nd cell, double chamfered mullioned window of 7 lights (lacks 2
mullions) with 6-light chamfered mullioned window over (lacks 2 mullions).
Doorway with plain stone surround leads into through passage. 3rd cell, double
chamfered mullioned windows of 4 lights (lacking 2 mullions). Over, chamfered
mullioned window of 4 lights (lacking 2 mullions). Rear has broad flat faced
mullioned windows of 2 and 3 lights and 4 doorways, the left hand of which is to
single cell cottage partly built over barn making the rear of 4 cells. The
attached barn, which breaks forward, has straight lintel to cart entry, the rear
of which is inscribed 'IMK 1711' set within a tressure. Mistal doorways have
stop chamfered surround. 3 stacks to ridge of house. The barn and house are
probably contemporary structures.
