Pair of cottages, formerly house; C15 with C16 and C20 alterations. 2-cell open
hall house. 1 1/2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed and rendered. Thatched
half-hipped roof with thatched gabled dormers and axial and gable chimneys of
red brick. C20 casements and flush entrance doors. 2-bay open hall with
crown-post roof; cambered tie-beam with deep chamfered arch-braces springing
from semi-octagonal pilasters; octagonal crownpost with moulded capital, 4
plank-type arch-braces. The hall roof near-complete, with service end
partition and half-hipped roof, all soot-blackened. Chimney stack inserted
C16, unusually, centrally in upper bay of hall, and first floor structure
inserted.
