GV II

House initialled and dated "RPP 1682" with mid C19 added wing to rear. Now
forms 2 dwellings. Large dressed stone, stone slate roof. Hall range with
projecting wings with through passage in eastern wing. Wings have coped gables
with kneelers and fleur-de-lys finials (probably C19). 2 storeys. All are
double chamfered mullioned windows. West wing has mullioned and transomed
window of 10 lights with same over to 1st floor, both with hoodmoulds with
decorated label stops, those to ground floor bearing initials and date in
relief. Hall range, set back, has 12-light mullioned and transomed window with
8-light window over to 1st floor; C19 flat faced mullioned window of 2 wide
lights and single light with single light eaves dormers over to 1st floor.
Continous hoodmould over ground floor windows continues around east wing which
has doorway with moulded lintel and renewed monolithic jambs to left of 5-light
window, with 10-light mullioned and transomed window over to 1st floor. Left
hand return wall in C19 hammer dressed stone as is rear wing which has 2 bays of
flat faced mullioned windows of 4 lights to each floor. Single storey gabled
porch has shouldered arch doorway, coped gable with kneelers and fleur-de-lys
finial. Rear of added wing has pointed arched stair-window. Rear of east wing
has coped gable with kneelers and original lantern finials, string course,
doorway with cyma moulding and flat faced mullioned windows of 2 and 4 lights.
Right hand return wall has 3-light double chamfered mullioned window with 4-
light window over to 1st floor. 6 stacks. Inside largely featureless. Stop-
chamfered spine beams to south front of east wing.
