Late C18/early C19. A row of terraced cottages. Painted brick with old tiled
mansard roof. 1 1/2 storeys. 13 dormers hanging from ridge. 13 windows, all cottages
2 each except No 1 which has 3. Early C19 casements. Centre doors. Picturesque
group at right angles to The Hard and at bend in road. Said to have been built
for shipyard workers about time of Napoleonic Wars or earlier.
The Hard, Bay Tree Cottages (Nos 1 and 2) Victory Cottages (Nos 1 to 6 (consec)
and the building adjacent to No 1, form a group.
