A C16 timber-framed and plastered building with a jettied upper storey with
exposed timber-framing, 2 large gables and a smaller crosswing at the north
east end. The upper storey is jettied on the whole front with exposed joists
and there is the remains of an embattled bressumer and a wall plate to the
ground storey. The crosswing has curved brackets with carved capitals and
moulded shafts under the jetted upper storey. 2 storeys and attics. 4 window
range, casements with lattice leaded lights, in C16 style. The attics are
lit by windows in the gables. The ground storey has C18-C19 windows, double-hung
sashes with glazing bars and doors with fanlights (one is a 6 panel door
with a semi-circular fanlight). Roofs tiled.

Nos 1 to 9 (odd) form a group with Nos 19 to 47 (odd), St Nicholas Street.
Also Nos 1 to 9 (odd) form a group with Nos 6 and 8.
