Heritage centre, formerly pair of cottages. Built of red brick in Flemish bond.
Side elevations brick in English bond to ground floor and tile hung above. Hipped
slate roof with 5 brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys. 3 windows. Centre projects
slightly with end blue brick quoins. 4 S-shaped iron ties. Windows have flat
rubbed brick voussoirs. Central 20 pane window with stone cills. End windows
16 pane sasnes with stone cills and moulded architraves. 2 C20 doors under original
rubbed brick flat arches. Rear elevation has 3 narrow 3 light windows (now C20
metal framed casements but with wooden frames intact). Ground floor interior has
wooden fireplace with lozenge-shape decoration and late C19 firegrate with leaf
design. Dado rail and plank doors. Semi-winder staircase. 1st floor has to left
side room an early C19 firegrate with lattice decoration, scrollwork and fluted
sides; to the attic room an early C19 firegrate with semi-circular surround and
Gothick motifs and to end room an early C19 4 panelled cupboard and probably another
early C19 surround though firegrate is boarded over.
