SS 80 SW SANDFORD THE SQUARE
(north side), Sandford

3/272 Fairview and No 24

GV II


2 houses. Early-mid C19. Plastered rubble; rubble stacks with brick chimney
shafts; slate roof. 2 contemporary adjoining houses facing south comprising a 2-
room house to left (Fairview) and one room plan house to right (24 The Square).
End stack shared with Lamb Inn (q.v.) to left and axial stack between the two
houses. Regular overall 3-window front. 2 windows with central door to Fairview
and one window with right end door to 24 The Square. All windows are 12-pane
sashes and both doors have doorcases with fielded panel pilasters and moulded
entablatures. Fairview has circa 1980 panelled door and 24 The Square only has
original 6-panel door. Included for group value.
The raised pavement with pitched stone surface, vulcan stone kerbs and rubble
retaining wall in front is included in the listing.
