Circa 1913, showing some influence of C.F.A. Voysey. Formerly all one dwelling.
Two storeys and attic, of irregular shape, with roughcast walls and a hipped tiled
roof whose eaves are deeply swept. Two flat dormers. At left the front and back
walls sweep down in a deep curve to enclose a garage court. At right a hip-roofed
one-storey projection holds a porch in its inner angle. To left of this is a shaped
gable end. Small-paned casements of varying sizes. Listed for historic reasons
as the last home of Sir Archibald Geikie O.M,, the celebrated geologist and volcanologist,
for the last years of his life from 1913 to 1924.
