Canal aqueduct over River Brun. c1790-6, for the
Leeds-Liverpool Canal Company; engineer, Robert Whitworth.
Dressed sandstone blocks, those in the lower half rusticated,
and rock-faced with random punching. 2 horseshoe arches, the
southern one over the river and the other over a footpath;
with a broad band over the arches, the retaining wall above
this slightly set back, a band over this, coped parapets, and
sloped concave abutment walls with rectangular terminal piers.
