Terrace of 5 houses and attached railings to Carlton Lodge, 69
and 75. Numbered right to left, described left to right.
c1820-50. Stucco over brick with concealed roof, tall brick
end and party-wall stacks and iron porches.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement, 14 first-floor windows (2 to
right, otherwise 3 per house). Stucco detailing includes end
pilasters, also to each side of entrance bay to No.75, which
interrupt continuous first-floor band; frieze, cornice and
blocking course. Mainly 6/6 sashes (where original) in plain
reveals and with sills. Blind boxes remain to first floor of
No.73. Entrances to right: flights of steps to 3-, 4- and
6-panel, part-glazed doors have overlights mainly with
margin-lights. Further entrance to right return within solid
porch with tooled parapet has 2 replacement doors.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: tent porches have uprights with scrolled
motif and openwork friezes. Area railings have stick
balusters, X-motif balustrade and lancets, otherwise renewed.
