Piers, railings and gates. c1857. Architect JJ Rowland for
Thomas Packer Walter Butt. Three pairs of piers, ashlar with
modillion capping, 2 pairs with polished granite panels, 2
pairs with ball-finials. Inner pair surmounted by enriched
wrought-iron lamp-standards. Quadrants to outer piers.
Wrought- and iron gates and side gates have lower panel with
enriched intertwining motif and bars with 3 levels of scrolls,
surmounted by enriched scroll crestings; overthrow has
surmounting scrolls. Railings on low walls similar to gates
with surmounting scrolls.
All the listed items at Arle Court form a good group.
