Milepost. Dated 1828. Cast-iron. Triangular casting with a
broach into a flat top. Inscriptions record distances:
Gorleston to London 121; Yarmouth 2; Nelson's Monument 3;
Ipswich 52; Lowestoft 7. Maker's stamp reads: `J. Garrett Iron
Foundry, St Margaret's, Ipswich, 1828'.
