Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Early, to mid C18, altered. Handmade brown
brick, slate roof. Linear 3-unit plan, with added rear outshut. Two
storeys, 1 + 2 bays; moulded 1st floor band of 3 courses of brick; openings
at ground floor have flat-arched heads with rounded corners: a doorway offset
left of centre of Ash Cottage (2 right bays) a window on each side of this,
and another window to the left (Foulby Cottage); one and 2 wndows at 1st
floor; all these windows are 4-pane sashes with exposed boxes. Stone coping
to left gable; corniced ridge chimney at the junction between bays 1 and 2.
Left gable has doorway to Foulby Cottage. Rear of less interest. Interior:
not inspected.
