C16 to C17 timber framed building with plaster infilling, the ground floor rebuilt in red brick. Two storeys. Attic storey to left hand end where there is a tile-hung gable; half-hip to roof at right hand end Casement windows Central brick stack. Timber-ed outshots behind.

All the listed buildings on 'the North west Side from The Bear and Ragged Staff Inn to No.70 [with Nos. 52 to 58 (even)] form a group.
