Shop with dwelling above. Circa late C16, extended circa C17 and
remodelled in circa early C20. Rendered timber frame with sham
timber framing applied to front. Plain tile roofs with gabled
ends. Brick axial stacks at back. Plan: Single depth rectangular
main range, the ground floor now one shop with separate doorway
to left (S) to three chambers above. The 2 adjoining rear wings
are probably C17 additions. Exterior: 2 storeys. Almost
symmetrical 3-window east front. 3 3-light first floor windows
with leaded pane casements of circa early C20 date. Large circa
early C20 double-fronted shop on ground floor with thin wooden
pilasters, fascia, blind case and panelled door to left to
accommodation above. 2 adjoining rear wings have 2 gables and C20
casements. Interior: Ground floor ceiling raised and supported
on thin chamfered cross-beam to right of centre. First floor
chambers have exposed wall-plates, posts and braces. Circa late
C16 queen-post roof with clasped purlins and common rafters
intact.
