Monument and attached lamp post. c.1902. Squared coursed limestone and limestone
ashlar, with wrought iron lamp post. Rectangular base is of squared coursed
limestone with ashlar dressings and 2 chamfered plinths. Ashlar upper stage with
chamfered corners and cornice with castellations. Lamp post attached to upper
stage has wrought scroll supports and swan-necked lamp bracket. Plaque with
raised lettering to centre of upper stage has inscription, "Coronation of Edward
VII August 9, 1902". Bands of thistles roses and shamrocks flanking plaque. Lamp
converted from gas to electricity. Included for group value.
