Farmhouse. Probably C17. Coursed rubble, stone slate and corrugated iron
roof, centre and end stacks. L-plan formed of north-east/south-west range
and cross-wing to south-west; through-passage to main north-east/south-west
range. Each of ranges is of 2 storeys and 3 windows and main range has C18 (?)
extension to north-east. Main range: south elevation has C20 brick stack to
centre, C19 casements:3-light to left and 2-light to right of entrance; first
floor has evenly spaced 2-light 4-pane casements. Entry just right of centre
beneath window and centre stack. Rear elevation has segmental door head
probably early C17 and contemporary ledged door leading to through-passage.
To its right a hooded and blocked window. Cross-wing: south gable end has
large stack with newel stair to left. To rear a north-east facing segmental
door head, probably C18, leads to small timber-framed lean-to extension
reputedly once a smithy. To right of main range and north-east end stack is
stable extension, probably C18, which has to its north side 3 ledged doors,
kennel under tallet stairs and on south side an early C19 lean-to. Interior
not inspected.
