House, later inn. 1970s replica attempt to front. Ashlar with Cotswold
stone roof on a C16 frame. Fine example of burgage development with long
range to NE and various outbuildings to rear courtyard. 2 storeys and
attic; central gabled dormer, brick chimney to left on ashlar plinth. 5
windows, glazing bar sashes in raised flat architraves. Long 2-storey
range to rear, including converted stables and what are now called
Sheepcote and Rest Cottages (staff accommodation). Interior: the best
surviving feature is the roof-structure; 1-2-1 arched-brace truss bays,
the lower wind-braces survive in 2 bays, the upper ones also in the North
bay (South bay not inspected).
