Cottage. Possibly C17. Slate stone rubble, rendered and painted on front elevation. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble front lateral stack. One room plan. Entrance on left with possibly contemporary C17 shallow porch. The entrance leads directly into the ground floor room which is heated by a front lateral stack. A C20 outshot extension has been added on the front right and lower right hand gable end. The cottage was added to the lower right hand gable end of a circa C16 house of three room and through passage plan (List entry 1143409 The Old Cottages).

Two storeys. Asymmetrical single window front with plank door on left in shallow entrance porch lit by a narrow one-light greenstone window. Projecting front lateral stack and single storey lean-to outshot on right. First floor with one-light casement windows to right and left of stack.

Interior: fireplace in front wall with lintel obscured by mantleshelf. The first floor joists have been replaced in the C19 and only continue over the left hand side, the right hand side open to the roof. The roof structure was also replaced probably in the late C19.

Particularly picturesque cottage forming group with house adjoining.
