Farmhouse. Early C19 and later C19. Squared and coursed stone,
slate low-pitched hipped roof, but hipped thatch to the dairy
unit. A symmetrical front range with rear range attached by
wing.
2 storeys, 3 windows, 2-light wood casements with transom, the
upper lights with pointed tracery bars at first floor, and
3-light similar casements, slightly projecting from the wall
plane, under a stone hipped head and with stone jambs and
lintels at ground floor each side of a projecting porch with
coped gable on kneelers, and pair of plank doors to a stone
lintel with key; at the time of survey the porch without roof
finish. Centred to the ridge are 3 linked octagonal stone
stacks. The left return is plain, and the back has a 3-light
casement at eaves level.
The attached later range has a slate hipped roof, with large
paired plain sashes in brick dressings, and a rear stack. The
lower dairy, attached, right, by a short section of slated
roof, is in 2 storeys, with 1 above two 2-light casements
behind pierced cast-iron screens. The hipped end has a 3-light
casement above a 2-light with grille, and the rear has a
single-storey lean-to.
