No. 2 (Easdale)

II

Inn now divided into 2 houses. Mid C18 with C19 additions. Painted incised
stucco with V-jointed quoins under Welsh slate and C20 tile roof with coped
gables and kneelers; stucco chimney stacks. Originally, Easdale was 2 storeys,
3 bays, but the right end bay and a 2-bay extension under common roof is now
Globe Inn Cottage. 2-bay extension to Easdale at left under common roof.
Easdale has central 6-panel door in bolection architrave. Sash windows in
bolection architraves; and sashes in left extension. Globe Inn Cottage has C20
door and sash windows, and one C20 casement window, all in plain reveals.
Easdale was originally The London Apprentices Arms changing its name to The Sun
and closed as The Globe in 1914. Cottage is included for G.V. and because it
forms an integral part of Easdale. House to extreme left, formerly the stables,
is not of interest.
