Description

SJ 98 SW POTT SHRIGLEY C.P. SHRIGLEY ROAD
(East Side)

3/100 Cophurst and Cophurst
Knot
14/4/1967
II

Formerly farmhouse, then 3 cottages, now 2 houses: late C17, altered
late C18 with C20 additions and alterations. Washed, coursed rubble,
with Kerridge stone-slate roof and 3 brick chimneys. Long rectangular
plan running downhill; perhaps originally house and shippon in the
range. 2 storeys. Door at right, under massive lintel has chamfered
stone surround with 2-light chamfered, stone-mullioned window (mullion
now missing). 2 other windows are horizontal sliding sashes, the
remainder C20 wooden casements. The openings for the windows at the
rear suggest altered mullions. Heavy purlins and ridge visible in
gable. Outshuts to rear and C20 garage added to the right.
Interior: No features of interest
