War memorial on north-west side of
Carr Bank Memorial Park

GV II

War memorial. c1920. Ashlar. Semicircular platform with
central steps, enclosed on the curved side by a wall with
moulded coping and square end piers with moulded caps. At the
apex, a rectangular pedestal topped with a cornice, segmental
pediment and blocking course. Central bronze wreath and
inscribed bronze tablet, flanked by ramped fluted buttresses.
At the foot of the pedestal a smaller bronze tablet set in a
sloping panel flanked by fluted buttresses and surrounded by a
semicircular kerb. On each side of the pedestal, a short
ramped coped wall ending in a square pier with stepped square
cap.
