the description shall be amended to read:
Barn, former house. Probably early/mid C17, refurbished in the late
C19. Plastered cob on stone rubble footings, parts rebuilt with
exposed stone rubble (the large local river cobbles) and some brick;
thatch roof. Barn facing onto the road to the south-west. There are
opposing large double doors onto the former threshing floor and at the
right (south-eastern) end there is a through-passage between the barn
and No 1 Drupes Cottages. Left of the passage are the late C19 double
doors, each split into 2 flaps, to the former threshing floor. Left
of this is a plank door flanked by unglazed windows with plain frames
and shutters. The roof is lower than No 1 Drupes Cottages and is
gable-ended. The- end wall is of exposed rubble and the top part is
weather-boarded. North elevation has timber lintels over 3 doorways,
that to centre retaining C17 chamfered doorframe and old plank door
with strap hinges. Interior noted as having 3-bay side-pegged jointed-
cruck roof with slip tenons and trenched purlins. East gable has C17
four-light wood-mullioned window. It was once a cider house and still
contains the apple crusher.
The barn forms a group with No 1 Drupes Cottages and Rose Cottage (qv)
and Nos 1 and 2 Baileys Cottages (qv).

Barn facing onto the road to the south-west. There are opposing large double doors
onto the former threshing floor and at the right (south-eastern) end there is a
through-passage between the barn and No.1 Drupes Cottages. Left of the passage are
the late C19 double doors, each split into 2 flaps, to the former threshing floor.
Left of this is a plank door flanked by unglazed windows with plain frames and
shutters. The roof is lower than No.1 Drupe Cottages and is gable-ended. The end
wall is of exposed rubble and the top part is weather-boarded.
Interior is open from the ground to the roof. Although a proper interior inspection
was not possible at the time of the survey the roof includes at least 2 side-pegged
jointed cruck roof trusses and they appear to be smoke-blackened which suggests that
on the C16 this was a hall-house with an open hearth fire. Alternatively it had an
industrial function at some time. It also was once a cider house and still contains
the apple crusher.
The barn forms a group with No.1 Drupes Cottages and Rose Cottage (q.v.) and Nos. 1
and 2 Baileys Cottages (q.v.).
