895-1/5/200 No 8 Lock and Jordans Bridge

GV II

Canal lock and bridge. c1770. By Brindley, Whitworth and
Simcock, engineers. Brick and some stone coping. Double bottom
and single top gates. Bridge has elliptical brick arch with
stone key and straight stone-coped piers, and blue
double-bullnose brick coped parapets. Plaque with name to
south side. The lock is one of a flight of 21 on the
Birmingham Canal, Wolverhampton level.
