House, now 2 dwellings. c1600, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame, plastered.
Thatched roof. 3 cell cross passage plan. 2 storeys. Cross passage entrance
towards right now blocked, entrances now to far right in service bay and as a
lobby entrance to left of centre. Scattered 2 and 3-light C19 and C20 glazing
bar casements with an early 4-light diamond mullioned window reopened on first
floor over hall, C20 dormers. Rebuilt ridge stack between hall and parlour to
left of centre. Left gable end pentice board, exposed plates and purlins. A
short C20 gabled wing to rear left. Right end 1 storey clay lump, pantiled
dairy outshut, attic 2-light casement, exposed plates and purlins. An added
external stack to rear of service bay. Interior: some close studding exposed,
stop chamfered cross axial binding beam in hall, stop chamfered joists in
parlour, removed arched braces to cambered tie beams, cambered collars clasp
purlins.
