- Whitegate Cottage

Two houses, built as one in C17 or earlier. Much early or mid C19
remodelling. 2 storeys. 5 windows. Probably built with 3-cell plan,
extended to right in C19 and divided into 3 cottages. Timber-framed and
plastered. C19 pantiled roof. An axial late C16/early C17 chimney of
pink/buff brick. Two further C19 axial chimneys of red brick. At 1st storey
is a set of 5 early C19 horizontally-sliding small-pane casements. At ground
storey a C19 small-pane sash to left, and mid C20 steel casements to right.
Central boarded C19 entrance door. Interior not examined: included for group
value.
