George and Dragon Public House

GV II

House, now public house. Late C18 with alterations c1900.
Rendered with painted ashlar dressings and slate roofs.
Double-depth plan. 3 storeys above a cellar and 2 bays, with
projecting quoins. The ground floor has a recessed timber
canted bay window with etched glass inscribed 'George and
Dragon Hotel' and 'Yates' Ales'. The upper storeys have late
C20 casements with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds. The
door, of 12 raised and fielded panels, is recessed within a
plain stone surround with 3 external stone steps and iron
railings. Large chimney to left.
