Farmhouse, c1600; encased in 1912. Stretcher bond red brick
over timber-frame; gabled glazed pantile roof; brick ridge and
right-end stack. 3-unit baffle-entry plan. 2 storeys; 3-window
range. Gauged flat brick arched over half-glazed door with
open-fronted proch and over C20 three-light casements; panels
bear inscription "JCC 1912". Mock timbering with rendered
panels to gable ends; 4 similar windows to rear.
INTERIOR: exposed timber frame of c1600 with studwork, tension
bracing and wattle and daub infill; stop-chamfered beams to
ground floor; C17 brick stack with chamfered bressumer over
blocked fireplace; first floor divided into 6 bays by
chamfered and jowled wall posts to stop-chamfered tie
butt-purlin roof, mostly rebuilt c1912 but retaining original
principal rafters and queen posts to bay on left.
