House. Early C19, C20. Timber-framing, rendered, brick, slate
roof. Plan truncated circle segment, curved frontage following
the road corner.
2 storeys with end wall stacks. Front, NW elevation, curved
wall in rendered timber-framing with slight end buttresses
where brick gable end walls project forward. 3 window range,
all windows are cast-iron casements with glazing bars. Ground
floor, two 3-light windows with upper transom, each light 3x5
and 3x2 panes. early C19 door between with 6 beaded flush
panels. C20 door-case with flat hood on brackets, rudimentary
early C19 style. First floor, two 3-light and one central
2-light window, all lights of 3x5 panes. NE garden elevation,
early C19 red brick gable end wall, some burnt headers.
Central flush stack. Ground floor, C20 fully glazed French
window. C20 red brick single-storey addition attached to house
on NE corner with balcony above. Ground floor, one single
light casement and a fully glazed door.
INTERIOR: completely refurbished in C20.
The front of the house has iron spear-head railings with
pine-cone finials, continuous with those at The Cottage (qv).
Luptons (qv), Wealdcote and granary (qv), The Cottage (qv),
The Old Post Office and the Tower Arms (qv) form a group.
