Terrace of 5 houses. 1837-50. For railway workers. Brick with
ashlar dressings; slate roof with brick stacks. Tudor style. 2
storeys; 15-window range comprising symmetrical double-fronted
houses. Wide eaves and verges. Tudor-headed entrances with
single-chamfered ashlar surrounds and panelled doors, but
No.127 has C20 door. Bracketed projecting timber mullioned
windows: cross casements to ground floor, 2-light casements to
1st floor, with small panes. End stacks and 4 cross-axial
stacks, 2 truncated. Attached stone-coped brick end walls and
stone base to missing front railings, square ashlar gatepiers
with caps. Rear wings. A good and attractive example of
workers' housing.
