Terrace of 3 town houses. 1838, No.1 added 1845-6, later
alterations. Brick with buff headers and stucco dressings;
slate roof with 4 brick stacks paired across roof ridge.
Georgian style. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Wide eaves soffit.
Entrances have moulded doorcases with cornices, overlights to
6-fielded-panel doors, those to Nos 2 and 3 form symmetrical
composition, flanking windows. Windows have sills, and
rusticated wedge lintels over 12-pane sashes. Right end has
altered roof with C20 parapet and garage door; 1st floor
segmental-headed window, part blocked, with C20 casement.
Built as part of the development of the north part of
Stratford, known as New Town; the land for these houses was
sold by the trustees of Tyler's Charity c1840.
