KING'S NYMPTON
Jewell's Lodge

II

Lodge to King's Nympton Park (q.v.). Early C19. Rendered walls. Slate roof with
gable ends. Rendered axial stack and rendered stack to rear left side with shallow
bread oven projection.
Plan: small 2-room plan lodge, with direct central entry into larger left-hand room
heated by rear stack and small room to right. Single storey extension attached at
right end.
Exterior: symmetrical with large central pedimented bay breaking forward to front
and rear; flanked by small single light windows with iron stanchions and leaded
lights. Heraldic achievements to centre of both pediments. Gabled slate roof to
porch with C20 door to front.
Interior much altered in C20. Fireplaces have brick arched lintels.
