SX 89 NW CREDITON HAMLETS

7/78 Holwell Cottage Farmhouse

2 cottages, now one. Probably C18. Plastered cob on rubble fottings; cob or
rubble stacks with brick chimney shafts; thatched roof. Pair of 2-room cottages
with mirror-plans either side of central cob crosswall. Stacks projecting from end
walls. 2 storeys. Original symmetrical facade survives partly obscured by C20
porches. Overall 4-window front of C20 wooden casements with glazing bars, 2 each
to the former cottages with central doors. Roof hipped each side. Plain carpentry
detail inside.
