south-west of Rydon House

Gateway. Early C19, contemporary with nearby Rydon House (q.v). Roughly squared
blocks of volcanic stone laid to rough courses and some volcanic ashlar detail.
Pair of piers set on roadside. From them lower quadrant walls curve in to the
gateway. Walls have flat coping. The piers are square in section with banded ball
finials.
