GV II*


Gun battery. Probably early C19. Cobbled platform with dressed granite and granite
rubble embattled retaining wall and parapet.
The platform is in the north west outer angle of the castle (St Michael's Mount, qv)
and the outer wall form an obtuse angle with 3 embrasures to each side. Fitted with
cannon from the wreck of a French frigate, driven aground during the Napoleonic wars.
