Former stable block. Circa 1880-90. By George Devey for Alice de Rothschild. Rubble stone, half-timbering with patterned brick and roughcast infill, some ornamental tile-hanging in gables. Tiled roofs, brick chimneys with 'V' pilasters. Courtyard plan. One storey and attic. South west front of six bays is irregularly gabled and has flanking round towers with conical roofs. Gateway to left of centre. Outer bays, bay to right of centre and towers have stone mullion and transom windows, other windows have barred wooden casements, those to first floor oriels with small tiled gables and Rothschild mottoes on terracotta plaques below. Courtyard elevations have garage doors, open storage bays and flats with barred wooden casements, those to attic in gabled dormers.
