Row of three attached houses. Early-mid C19, with few later alterations. Slatestone
rubble with brick dressings; partly rendered. Slate roof with ridge tiles and
gable ends. Gable end stacks and three axial stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: Windsmere is to left, there is a central house and Ivy Cottage is to right.
Windsmere is of 2-room plan, with central entrance, each room heated from an end
stack. The two houses to right are each of double depth plan, with a 2-span roof
over the front range and the rear service rooms. Each house has 2 rooms in the
front range, the outer rooms larger than the inner rooms, with entrance between.
Exterior: 2 storeys, a nearly symmetrical front. Windsmere has central gabled
and rendered porch with C19 4-panelled door with segmental overlight. C19 16-pane
sash at ground and first floor to left and right, with cambered brick arches at
ground floor. The two houses to right each have central gabled and rendered porch,
with inner C19 6-panelled door with cambered arch. The windows nearest the porches
at ground and first floor are C19 12-pane sashes; ground floor windows with cambered
brick arches. The left end of Windsmere is rendered, blind. The right end of
Ivy Cottage is blind, the rear range rendered, with a small single storey C20
addition.
