Dovecote. Late C16. Red brick in English bond, roofed with handmade red clay
tiles. Rectangular plan aligned approx. NW-SE, with entrance to S. Bonded to
the adjacent wall (item 7/59) at NW corner. 2 round-headed windows in NW side,
with early leaded diamond glazing. 2 gablet hips. C18 louvre on ridge. The
gablets were the original entrances for the birds, now blocked. 14 rows of
nesting boxes with brick ledges to each alternate row, 17 in each row on the
long sides, 10 in each row on the short sides. Moated site. RCHM 2.
