Old Barn Cottage

Cottage. Date-stone on chimney - 1660 - (now very worn). Brick and cob walls,
thatched roof, brick stacks. Originally of 2-room plan with end chimney stacks,
late extension to east. Modern thatched wing at rear. Lean-to addition to west,
with corrugated asbestos roof. Front wall buttressed. One storey and attics.
Modern panelled entrance door. Ground floor has four casement windows with glazing
bars - one with cast iron lights. Attic has three half-dormers with casements.
Small window under eaves. Interior has exposed chamfered ceiling beams on ground
floor, and large open fireplace with remains of bread oven. RCHM Monument 5.
