Farmhouse. A circa C18 remodelling and extension of an earlier house.
Stone rubble, whitewashed at front. Asbestos tile hipped roof. Large stone
rubble lateral stacks with tall shafts, one has rebuilt rendered shaft.
Plan and Development: Overall L-shaped on plan. The rear (south west)
range is probably the original house, and what remains of it has a 2-room
plan, the right hand room heated from a lateral stack at the back, the lower
left hand room also has a rear lateral stack although it might have been
unheated originally. It was probably in the C18 that the house was enlarged
by the addition of a range at the front (north east) its right hand room
heated from a large central stack on the higher right side, the left hand
room possibly unheated and with a central entrance between the two rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2-window north east front C19 2 and 3-
light casements with glazing bars, ground floor right hand window has slate
dripmould. Doorway to left of centre with circa late C19 glazed and
panelled door and large monolithic slate post supporting porch canopy which
continues over outshut on left. 2 C20 lights in roof at front.
The rear and north west side elevations have large stone rubble projecting
lateral stacks with set-offs, that at the rear with tapered top to shaft,
the side stack has rebuilt shaft. The south east elevation has C19 2 and 3-
light casements with glazing bars.
